Sunday Diary: Marché aux puces de Saint Ouen

Located in the very north of the city at Porte de Clingancourt, marché aux puces de Saint Ouen is Paris' biggest flea market. Whilst the market mostly only sells antiques (and so, for those with a larger budget), a visit to this market is a really nice way to pass a sunny afternoon... even whilst nursing Sunday's hangover.

You'll find an array of antique furniture of almost every decade; from chairs, mirrors and tables to sofas, newspaper stands and lamps.
Amongst all the furniture, there are shops selling prints, paintings, sculptures, posters and books. As well as vintage fashion and jewellery too.

Throughout the market are various charming little cafe's and restaurants serving all different lunch menu's including (of course) mostly French dishes. They are also perfect for a mid-shopping coffee pit stop between the boutiques and stalls.

Nearby, La Recyclerie is a cool bar and restaurant, that's not actually located within the market, but is very close, just next to the metro station. I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and chic aesthetic of this bar and the beer garden looks out over an old abandoned rail way track too.

If you're keen to see something a little bit different in Paris, with copious amounts of French charm- then this market is well worth a visit!
